The bar should not be used in doorways wider than 36 inches or without properly mounted brackets.

The mounting hardware included with the GoFit Chin Up Bar consists of four weight-bearing brackets. Two brackets are for mounting the bar high in your doorway, ideal for chin-ups. The other two brackets are for mounting the bar low in the doorway, facilitating exercises like push-ups and sit-ups. When properly mounted, the GoFit Chin Up Bar has a 300lb weight capacity.
