  • Maximum-flexibility core for deep contouring: The most flexible stick in the lineup — conforms closely to the curved outer surface of the IT band and the varying thickness of the quad and hamstring from hip to knee for even, deep pressure distribution.
  • 10 spindles for consistent coverage: Freely rotating spindles cover the full target area per stroke without sticking or requiring multiple passes.
  • Designed for runners and cyclists: Maximum flexibility is specifically chosen for the density levels and muscle shapes of endurance athletes — more flexible than the Body Stick, which is designed for general use.
  • 20-inch length for full leg strokes: Long enough to work the full IT band from above the knee to below the hip in a single stroke.
  • Phthalate-free and latex-free: Safe materials throughout. Made in the USA for 30+ years.

The Original Stick Marathon Stick is a 20-inch muscle roller with 10 spindles and a maximum-flexibility core designed for runners and cyclists. Phthalate-free and latex-free. Made in the USA.

• Length: 20 inches total
• Spindles: 10 rolling spindles
• Core flexibility: maximum (most flexible in the lineup)
• Materials: phthalate-free, latex-free
• Best for: IT band, quads, hamstrings, calves, running recovery
• Users: marathon runners, cyclists, triathletes, ultrarunners
• Made in the USA

Q: What makes the Marathon Stick different from other muscle rollers?
A: The maximum-flexibility core allows it to contour closely to the curved outer surface of the IT band and the varying thickness of the quad and hamstring from hip to knee. A rigid or semi-rigid stick creates uneven pressure on these areas; the Marathon Stick adapts to the leg's natural curves for even, deep coverage.

Q: Which flexibility level should I choose — maximum, moderate, or rigid?
A: Maximum flexibility (Marathon Stick) is for endurance athletes who need deep contouring to curved muscle surfaces. Moderate (Body Stick, Travel Stick) is for general-use recovery. Rigid (Stiff Stick) is for power athletes with dense muscle tissue who need the deepest possible pressure.

Q: Can I use this before a run as part of a warmup?
A: Yes — light, brisk rolling before a run helps increase blood flow and loosens superficial tissue. Use lighter pressure and quicker strokes for a warmup; save heavier sustained pressure work for post-run recovery.

Q: How long should I spend rolling after a marathon?
A: 5–10 minutes on the quads, IT bands, and calves is a reasonable starting point. Daily maintenance sessions of 2–3 minutes per area are more effective than occasional long sessions at preventing chronic tightness.

Great tool for active adults

Get the stick! So says my Physical Therapist who works with avid runners. My husband and I like the marathon stick because it's great for calves and it band. I also use it on my lower back which have been feeling tight, and I'm seeing good results. I have fibromyalgia and use another of their products which is the intruder for trigger points. It's more of a deep tissue targeted massage that helps a lot. I read some people were getting bruises from these products, but you have to learn what your pressure threshold is. You don't want to pound out your muscles, you want to ease into massaging them. When done right, you will have good results, so don't overdo it. I'm happy with their products and recommend to people who are active and want to take care of their bodies.

Massage Stick

I recently purchased the Original Stick. I go to physical therapy. I have IT band syndrome. The doctor at the physical therapy clinic has me using the massage stick to massage those painful areas. Because I didn't have one, he recommended me using a rolling pin in place of the massage stick. The rolling pin wasn't massaging as well as the stick. So I asked him if I could get one like the one I use here in the clinic. When I received the massaging stick, I was so happy. The massaging stick works well especially on painful areas and relieves muscle tension. It is a flexible stick with ergonomic handles.

Love it!

I've had a stick for over 10 years and still love it! So much easier than a foam roller to travel to races with and you don't have to climb down on the floor to use it either. Great fir everyday use to stay loose during training blocks.

Awesome massage stick roller for your tight muscles!

My son plays football, basketball, weight lifts...etc. He was always stealing my massage stick so I got him one. He loves it and it has helped keep his muscles massaged and ready for sports! The roller really finds the knots and helps get those worked out. Helps promote circulation too! Thank you!

Long time user

Amazingly effective! Just bought one for my 83 yr old mother after she tried the one I've been using for over 14 years. Great for nightly massage when touring on motorcycle or bicycle as well as daily relief for aches from neck to feet, especially calves.

Great calf therapy...

Awesome way to rub out your calf muscles and perhaps your quads too. I'm a runner and these areas are tough to smooth out by yourself. I've tried it for neck and back, but I think the shortest model that I got is not long enough for this.
