The Split Squat Pad turns any squat rack into a variable-height single leg squat station. Simply rack your barbell at the proper height, slide the Split Squat Pad (SSP) onto one end of the barbell, add a 45-pound plate onto the opposing end, and start squatting. The SSP’s unique hexagonal shape creates a shelf to help lock your foot in place. The pad rotates 360 degrees to provide a fluid movement. This space saving solution is the most simple, convenient, and effective single leg squat pad on the market.
The Split Squat Pad is a collaboration between Dr. Kelly Starrett of The Ready State and AbMat.
Kelly approached the AbMat team with an idea – can we convert a barbell into a split squat pad station? The team got to work and after a few iterations the Split Squat Pad was born.
The two versions of the Split Squat Pad function the exact same way. The only difference is the size and type of material used.
The Split Squat Pad is budget friendly and is 6” in diameter. It’s made of traditional foam roller material.
The Split Squat Pad Pro is made of AbMat’s exclusive high density foam system and is 7” in diameter. It’s designed for heavy use and will stand the test of time.
Both pads are 16.25” in length designed to fit over a standard sized olympic barbell. The inner diameter of the hexagons are slightly under 2” providing a snug fit on the barbell yet easy to slide on and off.
