Our journey began when our founder noticed a lack of visually inspiring yoga gear and set out to create mats, towels, and props that blend high-performance functionality with stunning aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from nature, art, and the global yoga community, each product is designed to bring beauty and mindfulness to your flow.
We are deeply committed to sustainability. We proudly use recycled PET in a variety of our products to help keep plastic out of oceans and landfills. Old plastic bottles are repurposed into an ultra-absorbent microfiber material used in our combo mats, towels, bags, and bolsters. This suede-like material offers amazing grip, absorption, and cozy softness. To date, we have diverted over 861,000 plastic bottles, and counting.
Our cork mats, wheels, and blocks are made using the outer bark of the cork oak tree. Cork trees regenerate stripped bark, meaning no trees are cut down to harvest cork. The bark is stripped by hand every 9 years to ensure full regeneration. Harvested cork oak trees can live up to 300 years. Cork is naturally anti-microbial, preventing odor and bacteria, and increases its grip when warmer. It provides supportive, durable cushioning.
Yoga Design Lab mats offer ultimate comfort and support. Our mats have a sustainable, non-Amazonian natural tree rubber base layer that provides a springy ride to cushion and protect your joints. They offer stable and supportive grip for every pose, whether practicing inversions, balances, or flows. Unlike foam base layers, natural rubber stays put and provides denser cushioning for optimal performance. We use non-toxic, water-based inks for designs and are updating packaging to use recycled kraft paper labels and boxes, actively working to minimize packaging. We strive to find solutions that are better for our planet and community.
