Does the Barton come with a chiller or is that sold separately?
The Barton is available in configurations with and without a chiller — check the specific listing. The DIY version (tub only) accepts an all-in-one or standalone chiller via the NPT chiller ports.
What does ultra-insulated mean in practical terms?
The thick insulated walls slow heat transfer from the surrounding environment into the water, meaning the water stays cold longer between chiller cycles. This reduces how often the chiller runs, lowering electricity costs and extending chiller lifespan compared to thinner-walled tubs.
What does the modular, serviceable design mean for long-term ownership?
Individual components — pumps, filters, plumbing fittings — can be removed and replaced by the owner without requiring full tub replacement. This extends the useful life of the investment significantly for a product used daily.
Is Epsom salt safe to use with all the components?
Yes — the Barton is specifically rated as Epsom salt compatible, meaning the materials, seals, and components are chosen to withstand the mineral content of Epsom salt without degradation over time.

Worth the upgrade!
I've been using a cheap inflatable tub and all-in-one chiller for the past year and just got the Cryospring tub after replacing my old chiller pump 3x and constantly needing to air up my tub. What an upgrade! It did cost nearly 2x of my old setup, but the quality is definitely there. This thing is going to last me a long time!
