Strength coach & sports nutrition specialist · · About the author
Animal Meal is a well-designed meal replacement that provides 46 g of protein per serving from beef, egg, and pea protein. Unlike typical protein powders, it also supplies carbohydrates from sweet potatoes, oats, and cassava, along with fats from olive oil. This creates a more balanced macronutrient profile suitable for replacing a meal or increasing daily calorie intake.
I particularly like the dairy-free formula and absence of artificial sweeteners, colors, and preservatives.
The main drawback is that it doesn't provide the variety of vitamins, minerals, and fiber you'd get from a balanced whole-food meal. Despite some suggestions of it being a meal replacement, Animal Meal doesn't appear to provide the comprehensive vitamin and mineral profile I'd expect from a nutritionally complete formula.
It does seem to provide some vitamins and minerals and is useful for increasing calorie and protein intake. However, I'd consider it more of a convenient macronutrient supplement than a complete substitute for a balanced meal.
Overall, it's a practical option for busy individuals and athletes struggling to meet their calorie needs.
