Overview

Battle ropes are ideal for building muscle, burning fat in home gyms or group settings!Ā

Two types of rope making: Triple Strand Twist and Braided

The triple stranded twist is the most common style of rope making, as it is cheaper and faster than braiding a rope. These are the ropes you see that look like three smaller rope twisted together.Ā  The downfall, is that if your rope begins to untwist it is nearly impossible to twist it back to its original shape and length. This poses a big issue, if you are attempting any cyclonic or circular style of exercises: i.e. full body circles, triple wrapped rope pulling, or outside circles.Ā

The braided rope is another method of making a rope, and it creates equal forces directing down the length of the rope when creating waves, circles, static engagement, and rope pulling exercises. It also is more durable. The only issue, is when performing circular waves, you will feel the rope wanting to twist inside of your hands. This is part of the tension that is being ā€œheldā€ by the rope. It will not twist the rope, so therefor your grip has to fight to keep the circles going.

Living.Fit has witnessed the shortfalls in the battle rope production, so we ordered over 30 ropes from 5 different manufacturers to find the very best battle rope. We made our choice after hours of testing and many uses of each rope.

We selected the rope with canvas covering covering for protection.

Bought 2,; 1.5" covered & 2" braided!

Took advantage of super sale. Bought 2; 1.5" outdoor and 2" indoor battle ropes. Figured the smaller diameter for outdoor would be easier to transport and share with passers-bys. I offer my canoes to people, too. Try to share and introduce ideas. I am a 65 year old that is deconditioned and obese, but was competitive swimmer until 30. Loved rope at last gym I belonged. There are heavy and light battle exercises. Braided 2" is super nice; a real piece of functional art and both are great tools.

They are very good. I have to get used to the length, my others were shorter, but 2 inches in diameter.

Quality Ropes, Fast Shipping

The price I paid was very reasonable. I know it can be expensive to ship heavy items like this, but it's nice to see it built into the price.
The ropes are very well made in a way that minimizes longer term wear and tear. The grips will help prolong the life of the rope because it will prevent fraying. Being able to order black colored ropes is great because it will prevent my ropes from looking ugly from all the dirt they're likely to pick up.

1.5 Canvas Covered Ropes

soooo happy with my purchase. I reached out to staff for recommendation on which rope to buy. I am a female with a lifetime of experience in the exercise world. Staff suggested the 1.5 diameter, because it was so versatile. Believe me, I was hesitant at first, because I thought I could handle the the 2 inch or 3 inch. Boy am I glad I went with the 1.5.... I am definitely working hard and I am able to do slams, burpee slams, waves. single leg slams, high plank one-arm wave, seated hip toss, chops, etc etc. The canvas really protects the ropes and are a great addition.
