Forge Roller
The Forge is a patented, all-around tool for Body Tempering, an innovative recovery method. It is currently utilized by professional athletes across various sports, including Major League Baseball, the National Football League, and Strongman competitions. The concept for the Forge originated in 2015 with strength coach Corey Davis and 3-time Olympian Reese Hoffa, who sought to maximize muscle recovery for improved athletic performance.
Their exploration led them to Donnie Thompson's Body Tempering techniques, which initially involved using various steel pipes for recovery. While effective, these pipes presented several challenges: they occupied significant gym space, ranging from 30 to 200 pounds, were cumbersome and posed safety risks when maneuvering heavier weights, and were expensive to acquire in a full range of weights.
The Forge was engineered to address these issues. This single, adaptable, and safe Body Tempering product weighs 30 pounds and is designed as a plate-loaded tube.
Key features of the Forge include:
* Adaptability: It accommodates all individuals across the muscle mass spectrum. At its empty weight, the Forge is suitable for smaller muscles.
* Variable Weight: The extensions on each side of the tube are compatible with standard weight and barbell dimensions, allowing users to add up to 230 total pounds. This enables customization based on the athlete's size and muscle group being targeted.
* Targeted Tempering: The rounded ends of the Forge can be used for precise, targeted recovery on specific areas.
* Space and Cost Efficiency: The Forge eliminates the need for multiple steel pipes, saving space and money. Its unique shape allows for easy storage alongside barbells.
* Safety: The design ensures that the heaviest weight lifted over an athlete is the 30-pound Forge itself, with additional plates loaded once it is in position.
The Forge is designed to be the only Body Tempering tool needed, offering a comprehensive and safe solution for muscle recovery. It is also an ideal complement to the DT Tempering Table.
DT Tempering Table
The DT Tempering Table is a first-of-its-kind product developed by Body Tempering creator and world-renowned weightlifter Donnie Thompson, in collaboration with the AbMat team. Thompson recognized the need for a versatile and stable cushion that could support athletes and tempering weights, while also being easily transportable and adaptable to different body types.
This solid yet lightweight table is proudly made in the USA from durable ripstop vinyl, designed to prevent stretching.
Key features of the DT Tempering Table include:
* Dimensions: 72 inches long x 20 inches wide x 6 inches high.
* Weight: 15 pounds.
* Construction: It features five inches of supportive rigid foam and one inch of high-quality plush foam for increased comfort.
* Foldable Design: The table folds in half for convenient transport and storage, and includes handles.
* Removable Cushion: A one-foot cushion can be reattached at any location around the table. This allows it to function as a kneeling pad for the person performing Body Tempering or to provide outward extension of the limbs for easier rolling.
* Head Support: The top of the table includes a U-shaped cutout for the user’s head to rest in, maintaining spinal alignment and support. A headrest is also included for maximum comfort.
The DT Tempering Table eliminates the need for makeshift cushions, providing a dedicated solution to maximize the benefits of Body Tempering recovery treatments.
